Welcome to Robin and Bucky's wedding website!
We can't wait to see everyone and celebrate friendship and community on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at the Sackville Music Barn.
Our story
Robin and Bucky met at a Rotary Wine Tasting event in May 2008 at the Sackville Civic Centre. Bucky had been living in Sackville already for a few years and Robin had recently returned from Australia, the year previous. They had a brief courtship and shortly thereafter, baby Henry arrived in October 2009 and, well, we've been a family ever since. Ned arrived in March 2012. Miles arrived in February 2016. Sackville has been our chosen place to raise these boys (and dogs and chickens) and we've always felt a very strong connection to community with beautiful friends and family support.
When Robin inquired a few years ago (still during COVID) about what sort of festivities Bucky wanted when turning 50 on August 11 2025 and mentioned that maybe we should have a big party and maybe we would want to get married , he proclaimed that the only way he was getting married would be if it happened on the beach and if it was a tiki themed party. Also, there was some mention of nudity as well. Well, the beach and tiki themed party didn't materialize but the wedding part has, so we are doing it!
Thank you for coming and for helping us celebrate this big event of ours, with us. In love, Robin and Bucky.

7-8pm - Open Mic! First we will all sing "Happy Birthday" to Bucky for his 50th birthday. This will be followed by an Open Mic! If you might like to say a few words or tell a story or recite a poem or sign a song, we would love that!
8pm and onward until 1am- dessert, cocktails and dancing! There will be a dessert table. There will be a light show on the dance floor. There will be a lot of dancing.
*Song requests have been to be done in advance. The DJ is not able to accept requests on the day of the wedding. If you have songs that you'd really like to hear at the wedding to dance to, please send them along to Robin before July 25 2025. :)
Party Wear
Festive Attire! Guests are encouraged to wear bold, colorful semi formal attire but there really is no dress code. Please come in what you feel your best in. It's an outdoor rustic barn wedding in August during the height of summer so it could be hot and humid or it could be cool and breezy (or rainy).
Details!
Parking & Designated Driving
There is a lot of parking at the Sackville Music Barn on the field. Just come up the driveway from Station Rd. and you'll see the parking area.
We will be arranging for a Designated Driver Buddy to drive people back to their accommodation in Sackville, for people staying in town, from about 10pm onwards, likely on the hour (so at 10pm, 11pm, 12am and 1am. It will be like a personal taxi service for our guests!
Accommodation Options
There are a few options in Sackville still. The Coastal Inn is an option for folks that wish to stay in a hotel room. The Marshlands Inn also still has a few rooms (as of July 5th). Airbnb and VRBO options are limited at this time of the year.
Camping on-site at the Music Barn is also an option. We will have 2 portable toilets set up for the wedding and for anyone that wants to pitch a tent.
We also have a few friends that have apartments, rooms, if you're looking still, please get in touch.
Gifts
Gifts are not expected. However, if you do want to bring a gift may we suggest:
1. Something that you made. We love the things you make and would be honoured to have something you've created.
2. If, and only if, it is feasible for you we'd also gratefully accept a contribution to our family trip honeymoon fund. There will be a box for money at the wedding, alternatively, e-transfers would work well too.
"After 17 years, we finally decided to make it official—because apparently, common law marriage doesn’t come with cake and a dance floor!"
Out of Town Guests
We are planning a few outings during the week before the wedding. It will be weather dependent but here is the schedule for day-time excursions:
Wednesday, August 6th - Joggins Fossil Cliffs and UNESCO world heritage site. We will also stop at Trueman's Blueberry Farms on the way home to eat ice cream and pick flowers for the wedding day.
Thursday, August 7th - trip to Jost winery and Tatamagouche with a stop at the beach.
Friday, August 8th - we will be setting up at the Sackville Music Barn for most of the day but we'd like to host out of town friends and family at our house for lobster rolls, hotdogs, corn on the cob and ice-cream sandwiches from 5:30pm. We'd like to have numbers for the dinner so please RSVP by August 5th if you think you'll be able to join us at our place at 8 Squire St.
If you would like to join us on Wednesday or Thursday please send Robin an email to confirm so we can figure out numbers and plan meeting places accordingly. We can figure out drives for anyone that doesn't have a car or rental vehicle.
